BBC brings Irish Festival to Levenshulme

This year's BBC Manchester Radio sponsored Levenshulme Festival brought the Irish Festival to the village.
The BBC were down in force for the special live broadcast of Citizen Manchester Irish night with Eve Grealy and Ashley Byrne who broadcast live from the area on Monday 23rd October from 6.30pm to 8pm on 95.1fm and on the web.

A host of live musicians and dancers performed in front of a packed out audience at the Packhorse Pub in Levenshulme.
Performers included the award winning fiddle player Dezi Donnelly, The Tara O’Carolan traditional Irish music branch, the keegan Kennedy School of Irish dancing, The Rossonerri Celtic Rock group plus acoustic performances from Mark Greville, Amida, The Next Phase and The Drift.

Tony Hennigan the chairperson of the festival said "It is great to have BBC Radio Manchester down in the village to celebrate the festival. With so many Manchester's talented Irish musicians and dancers performing in the concert it is a great Irish party.
The event was FREE and took place at the PAC Music venue on Stockport Road in the middle of Levenshulme home to the biggest Irish community outside of London.
