Processed Limitations presents three drawing practices. Although visually dissimilar and technically diverse, from obsessive repetitive mark making to systematic testing of the limits of observational and rendering skills or the use of Microsoft Office as a draftsman's tool, they are highly individual in terms of their aesthetic outcome.

All three are essentially conceptual in their approach to the tradition of drawing as an art form and examine the automatisms involved in the creative process.

The setting of an artist run gallery and the proximity of the activities in the studios at Bankley provide a context in which the relationship between the work and its sources can be opened up and examined.

Alongside the drawings themselves, the exhibition will include a range of printed material, images and objects. These are not preoccupied with aesthetics, but serve as references and reflections on what inspires artistic production and drives the process of manipulation to the point where it liberates itself and gives the form of the art work.

Bankley Open Studios 2010 will incorporate three floors of artist’s studios and the work of 36 artists open to the public, covering all artistic disciplines.

The artists who use Bankley Studios as a base for their contemporary art practice, throw open the doors to their individual spaces for this annual event. Painting and drawing, sculpture, photography and video art-forms are represented, show-casing the diversity and quality of work by artists currently resident at this renowned artist-run collective.
