2017 Levenshulme Festival celebrates 19th Birthday

bringing ourt community together

Its scary to think that this year the Levenshulme Festival will celebrate its 19th year. Launched in 1998, the festival was launched to celebrate the enormous creative talent in the south Manchester village. This year is no different and we want to thank everyone who has got involved and helped promote Levenshulme and its people.

Like any community across the country, Levenshulme has its challenges. It's strength, however is it's people and that's what the Levenshulme Festival actively promotes. From arts to culture, music to theatre - there really is something for everyone planned.

Of course, the culmination of this year's festival is Halloween and we plan a spooktacular, spectacular end to our 19th Festival and originally we planned to finish on Halloween on Tuesday 31 October but we have added an extra day to accommodate the massive free fireworks display on Wednesday 1 November in Cringle Fields. As with every festival, we want more people to get involved. A festival is only as good as the people behind it and that's why we want you to get involved. A good festival will lead to more visitors to our area and a chance to showcase some of our hidden gems.

Tony Hennigan from the festival said, "The Levenshulme Festival, or LevFest as it's affectionately known is one of the highlights of our area's busy cultural calendar. Over the past 19 years, thousands of local people have got involved in promoting our area. Levenshulme is a very multi-cultural area and that adds to the rich fabric of our annual celebration. They'll be something for everyone this year and there's room for any individual, community group or other organisation to play a part."
