Carina O'Brien the Vice Consul of the recently opened Irish Embassy in Manchester will be officially launching the UK launch of Mayo County Council's 'Home to Mayo' Festival on Friday 29 October at Fred's Ale House in Levenshulme at 8pm.

The event which features a taste of the month long festival which is taking place from the 1st to 31st May features Irish Singer Niamh Finan along with Joe Keegan and fiddle player Grainne White. There is also a chance to win a holiday in Mayo with a free raffle for a stay at the Broadhaven Hotel in Erris and a two night stay at Achill Island Hotel.

Carina O'Brien commented "I’m delighted to help launch the Home to Mayo Festival Countdown in the UKs biggest Mayo diaspora community in the UK. The month long festival is one of Failte Ireland’s flagship global series festivals and will take place from 1-31 May. It is great to see Mayo Manchester taking a leading role in promoting the festival and staging their award winning Mayo Manchester Tradfest during the last week of May. They are planning a tour of Mayo starting in North Mayo in Attymass and Ballina and then staging events in the East, West and South of Mayo finishing at Ashford Castle in Cong. It promises to be a great week of Irish music, song and dance and I would urge to press the green button now and book your trip home."
